| Subject: how to post builds with profession and skill icons on the forum? ! Mon Feb 16, 2009 3:26 am | |
| This forum can make use of the GWBBcoding. This means that you can post down builds with the icons and descriptions.
how to start writing my build. you first have to make clear to the forum you're working on a build template. This can be done by writing
[build
After this you have to write the profession the build is for this can be accomplished by writing,You can either write down the whole profession name (elementalist) or how it's shown in your team menu ( E ) or write it down in the much known term for it (ele)
[build prof=ele/ranger][/build] [ build prof=ele/ranger
After this it's handy to tell the people that see the build on what attributes they should spent their points on and how high the attribute levels should be. It is also nice to let them know if some of these attributes are boosted with runes. to write this down you use the first word of the attribute name (fire from firemagic) or when it's only one word you use that word (marksmanship). behind this attribute you write the level of it behind a equal sign. so 12 if the attribute is 12. If you have like runes boosting the attribute you can write down +the number you get from a rune so as example fire=12+1+3 your code will then look as folllowing
[build prof=ele/ranger energy=3+2 fire=12+1+1 marksmanship=12][/build] [ build prof=ele/ranger energy=3+2 fire=12+1+1 marksmanship=12
This first section of your build is then ready and you can close it with a ] [build prof=ele/ranger energy=3+2 fire=12+1+1 marksmanship=12][/build] [ build prof=ele/ranger energy=3+2 fire=12+1+1 marksmanship=12]
now to add skills you have to write them out, Withouth grammatical errors, between [ and ] so your build will look as following [build prof=ele/ranger energy=3+2 fire=12+1+1 marksmanship=12][barrage][conjure flame][mark of rodgort][distracting shot][Flame Djinn's Haste][volley][crossfire][pin down][/build] [ build prof=ele/ranger energy=3+2 fire=12+1+1 marksmanship=12][barrage ][conjure flame ][mark of rodgort ][distracting shot ][Flame Djinn's Haste ][volley ] [crossfire ][pin down ]
Now your build is finished. You can let the forum know you're ready with you're build by typing down [/build], Note that this is needed in order to let the forum see the skill icons and descritpions on the forum. so your build looks like [build prof=ele/ranger energy=3+2 fire=12+1+1 marksmanship=12][barrage][conjure flame][mark of rodgort][distracting shot][Flame Djinn's Haste][volley][crossfire][pin down][/build] [build prof=ele/ranger energy=3 fire=12 marksmanship=12][barrage ][conjure flame ][mark of rodgort ][distracting shot ][Flame Djinn's Haste ][volley ][cross fire ][pin down ][ /build]
Note that i have put spacebars in between the words and opening and closing [ ] else i can't show the code but it will show the skills instead. As you can see i write [ /build] at the total end. This is because it then stays clear that the skills belong to one build. You can also however chose to write down [ build prof=ele/ranger energy=3+2 fire=12+1+1 marksmanship=12][ /build] folled by the skill names between[ and ]. This way tou can also post skill icons in the middle of a tekst, so by writing [word of healing ] (without the extra spacebar at the end) you get to see this [WoH] you can also use highly used abbreviation's (like [WoH ])
as you might notice however posting icons in the middle of your tekst can kind of screw up it's straightness, thus it might be better to have the skill written out in words but with the description when you're moust goes over it. This can be achieved by writing down [[word of healing ] (without the extra spacebar at the end) [[word of healing]
additional if you have a build which has like one optional skill of which you'd like that the readers fill it in for themselfs you can at a empy skill slot by writing [no skill ](without the extra spacebar) this results in [no skill] This is about as much as i know about the GWBBcode so happy build posting, And when grandma or i find new options for it we'll surely post it here. | just some new discoveries about posting skills.
it turns out that you can only randomly post skills in your message after you have posted a build in it as well.
to however randomly post skills in your messages withouth wanting to post a full build first you can simply write [build ][ /build] (without it being bold. and without a spacebar between [ /build) at the start of the message. This will then enable you to then randomly post skill names with their icon's or descritptions. | |
