PostSubject: [High-End] PvP equipment   [High-End] PvP equipment Icon_minitimeSun May 01, 2011 11:26 pm

It has occurred to me that there may be some people who are unsure of what equipment is best to bring. So, I'll post a general idea what sort of equipment you should have.

I'll start by suggesting what insignia you should have.

Frontline
Warrior - Sentinel
Dervish - Windwalker
Assassin - Vanguard

Midline
Ranger - Survivor
Mesmer - Prodigy or Stalwart
Necromancer - Undertaker or Survivor
Paragon - Centurion
Elementalist - Blessed

Backline
Monk - Disciple or Anchorite
Ritualist - Ghost Forge or Herald

Regardless of your profession you should have a Superior Vigor rune.
Warriors should have a stonefist insignia on either the hand or feet plus a rune of clarity and restoration (also good for dervs + assassins)
If you have a decent amount of health on a caster and still have space adding a rune of restoration can be quite beneficial.

All players should be carrying a shield with reduce cripple (20%) in their inventory for fights on burning isle.

Weapon sets

Warrior
- Furious spear of fortitude
- Vampiric axe/sword/hammer of fortitude
- Zealous axe/sword of fortitude
- Elemental1 axe/sword/hammer of fortitude
- Sundering hammer of fortitude
- Your shield should be reduce blind (20%)
- Inscription should be 15^50

Dervish
- Furious spear of fortitude
- Vampiric scythe of fortitude or enchanting
- Zealous scythe of fortitude or enchanting
- Elemental scythe of fortitude or enchanting
- Your shield should be reduce cripple (20%)
- Inscription should be 15^50

Assassin
- Spear of fortitude
- Vampiric daggers of fortitude
- Zealous daggers of fortitude
- Elemental daggers of fortitude
- Your shield should be reduce cripple (20%)
- Inscription should be either 15^50 or +5e

Ranger
- Spear of fortitude (HSR 10%)
- Poisonous recurve bow of fortitude
- Vampiric flatbow of fortitude (damage +15%, energy -5)
- Crippling longbow of fortitude
- Shield should be reduce cripple (20%)
- Inscription should be 15^50 unless otherwise stated

Mesmer
- Spear of fortitude or defense (HSR 10%)
- 40/402 Dom or Illusion set (depending on what bar you have)
- 40/40 Inspiration set
- Shield should be AR +10 vs slashing

Necromancer
- Spear of fortitude or defense (HSR 10%)
- 40/40 Curses or blood set (depending on what bar you have)
- 40/40 Soul reaping set
- Shield should be AR + 10 vs slashing

Elementalist
- Spear of fortitude or defense (HSR 10%)
- 40/40 Elemental set (depending on what bar you have)
- 40/20/203 Staff of appropriate element
- Shield set should be AR + 10 vs slashing

Paragon
- Furious spear of fortitude
- Vampiric spear of fortitude
- Zealous spear of fortitude
- Elemental spear of fortitude
- Shield should be reduce blind (20%)
- Inscription should be 15^50

Monk
- Crippling spear of defense (HSR 10%)
- 40/40 heal set
- 40/20/20 protection staff
- +30/-2 high energy [divine] set of swiftness
- Shield should be AR +10 vs slashing

Ritualist
- Spear of defense (HSR 10%)
- 40/40 Restoration set
- 40/20/20 spawning staff
- Shield should be reduce cripple

1 Elemental weapon = fire, earth, icy, shocking mod.
2 40/40 set is 'XXXX wand of memory' (aptitude not attitude 20%) and a 'XXXX focus of aptitude' (forget me not 20%)
3 40/20/20 staff is an 'adept XXXX staff of enchanting' (Aptitude not attitude 20%)

I don't think I've forgotten anything, if anyone thinks of something that should be on there let me know and I'll add it.

Nice writeup! Since I only actually use one class, I'll comment on that. Necros should have a Barbed spear mod as well, until the next Blood Magic nerf. Even though this meta is horrible, it's kinda cool that each class has at least one thing they can do somewhat well now.
